VBC COVID-19 Real-time Updates

In this unprecedented time as our world faces a health crisis, all industries are feeling the affects of the COVID-19 pandemic.  In a time when social distancing is key to reducing exposure, the Von Braun Center (VBC) wants to maintain open communication and keep our community informed of the changes happening on a day-by-day basis.

We are working closely with meeting planners, artists, tour managers and promoters, and are following recommended protocol from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Alabama State Health Department, the International Association of Venue Managers, ServSafe, and local city entities.

Event cancellations are at the discretion of the event organizers. As organizers decide to cancel or reschedule an upcoming event, they provide us with approved copy to announce and we then work with them in making sure their guests are made aware. Currently, all March events have been rescheduled or cancelled, with many events in April announcing the same.  It's always our goal to provide the best customer service we can and we appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we navigate this situation together.

The good news?  The majority of entertainment events at the VBC are not cancelling, but instead have (or are currently being) rescheduled to later dates!  In addition, we are continuing to announce new shows and adding to our calendar of events - giving us all something exciting to look forward to.

Steve Maples, CFE
Executive Director, Von Braun Center

What Ticket Buyers Should Know:

  • For postponed events with no new date announced:
    • We are working diligently with the artist's team to reschedule, and we encourage you to continue following our updates for more information. Please hold on to your original ticket. No action required.

  • For rescheduled events:
    • Tickets for original performances will be honored on the new scheduled date.  We encourage patrons to hold on to their tickets for rescheduled events. No action required.
  • For cancelled events:
    • For tickets purchased through Ticketmaster.com, refunds will automatically be issued. No action required.
    • For tickets purchased through the VBC Box Office, or other outlets other than Ticketmaster, buyers should return to their point of purchase.
    • Refunds for cancelled shows will go to the customer who originally purchased the tickets.

  • For refunds:
    • Guests may return to their point of purchase (VBC Box Office or visit Fan Support for tickets purchased via Ticketmaster).
    • Refunds are given on a show-by-show basis for rescheduled events. If refunds are not being issued for a rescheduled show, you can consider selling your tickets to other fans on Ticketmaster's safe and secure resale marketplace.  Please note that given the unprecedented circumstances, event organizers are constantly assessing the situation and making determinations regarding refunds. If your event is not currently enabled for refunds, check back later as this status may change.
    • We are unable to assist with tickets purchased through other vendors outside of the VBC or Ticketmaster.
    • We are unable to refund tickets for shows that have already passed, so if a guest has concerns we recommend they visit their point of sale prior to the day of the show in order to receive their refund rather than missing the show and trying to get a refund for their unused ticket at a later date.

Given the global health crisis and the influx of customer service requests that both our venue and Ticketmaster are receiving, wait times may be longer than usual and we ask for your patience and understanding.
