All guests shall remain respectful and courteous to their fellow patrons and comply with requests from VBC staff regarding policies, emergency response procedures, and behavior that impacts the experience of fellow patrons. The Von Braun Center values the support of all guests and reserves the right to eject any guest for any reason, including not treating other guests attending the event with dignity and respect.

Guest Searches

All patrons entering the Von Braun Center during an event are subject to screening. Screenings may vary by event, ranging from visual inspection and bag search to screenings by a magnetometer (metal detector) and/or pat-down search conducted by security personnel. The purpose of the inspection is to detect prohibited items.

Bag Policies

Propst Arena has a separate bag policy from the rest of the VBC facility.  Guests may bring in clear bags that don’t exceed 12” x 12” x 6” or non-clear bags that don’t exceed 5”x 7.”  See full Propst Arena Bag Policy here.

All other entertainment VBC venues (Mark C. Smith Concert Hall, Mars Music Hall, and Playhouse): Bags must not exceed 14” x 14”x 6.”

Bag policy and security protocols can vary by event. Please check your event listing for specific details.

Food & Beverage

Guests may not bring in outside food or beverages to VBC events. Feel free to visit any of our concession stands or enjoy our restaurant, Rhythm on Monroe, before or after your show.

Guest Code of Conduct

At the Von Braun Center, we strive to create a welcoming environment where all guests can enjoy safe, inclusive, and respectful experiences. This guest code of conduct outlines the standards of behavior expected at all VBC venues and events.

We ask that all guests uphold the values of respect, inclusion, and safety in their words, actions, and interactions with fellow attendees and VBC staff. Guests who choose not to follow these guidelines may be subject to removal from the property without a refund.

Prohibited Behavior:

The following actions are not permitted in any VBC venue or on the surrounding property, including parking areas:

  • Interfering with the event, performers, athletes, or staff in any way.
  • Using abusive, obscene, or threatening language or gestures.
  • Engaging in physical altercations, aggressive behavior, or throwing objects.
  • Creating disruptions that negatively impact other guests’ enjoyment of the event.
  • Consuming alcohol irresponsibly or underage drinking (21+ with valid ID required).
  • Smoking (prohibited by state law).
  • Ignoring instructions from VBC staff or emergency personnel.
  • Sitting in seats not assigned on your ticket or refusing to show your ticket upon request.
  • Blocking aisles, standing on seats, or climbing on building structures.
  • Sitting or standing on seat backs, or stepping over/onto seats.
  • Obstructing the view of other guests for prolonged periods.
  • Engaging in unauthorized commercial or promotional activities.
  • Exhibiting disruptive, harmful, or disorderly behavior, as determined by VBC staff.

Additional Reminders:

  • Please be courteous when entering and exiting the venue.
  • If you witness inappropriate behavior, report it promptly to a VBC usher or staff member.
  • Violation of this policy or any applicable federal, state, or local laws may result in ejection without a refund. Ejected individuals must leave the premises immediately.

  • Any noise-making devices* (specifically air horns, sirens, or whistles)
  • Backpacks/briefcases/suitcases
  • Bags/purses (see bag policy above for details)
  • Bottles or cans
  • Cameras**
  • Camera bags
  • Chains
  • Coolers
  • Firearms
  • Fireworks
  • Flashlights
  • Food and drink purchased outside of the Von Braun Center
  • Frisbees and/or beach balls
  • GoPro cameras
  • Illegal drugs or alcohol
  • Jewelry or belts of any kind containing spikes or studs
  • Laser pointers
  • Pepper spray
  • Pets
  • Pocket knives
  • Poles or sticks (including signs attached to poles)
  • Recording devices
  • Selfie sticks
  • Stun gun/taser
  • Weapons or other dangerous devices

*Excludes Huntsville Havoc hockey games.
**Exception for graduation events.
